Tips to Avoid Fires in Your Home and Property

Fire safety is a crucial aspect of maintaining a safe and secure home. Fires can cause devastating damage, both physically and emotionally. At Resto Clean, we believe that prevention is key. Here are some essential tips to help you avoid fires in your home and property.

Install Smoke Alarms: Ensure that smoke alarms are installed on every level of your home, including inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas. Test them monthly and replace the batteries at least once a year.

Create a Fire Escape Plan: Develop a fire escape plan for your family and practice it regularly. Make sure everyone knows at least two ways out of each room and where to meet outside the house.

Be Careful with Cooking: Never leave cooking unattended. Keep flammable items away from the stove, and make sure to clean the cooking area regularly to avoid grease buildup, which can ignite.

Use Heaters Safely: Keep portable heaters at least three feet away from anything flammable, such as curtains or furniture. Always turn off heaters when you leave the room or go to bed.

Check Electrical Wiring: Inspect electrical cords and wiring for wear and tear. Replace any damaged cords, and avoid overloading electrical outlets. Consider hiring a professional to inspect your home's electrical system periodically.

Practice Safe Candle Use: Never leave candles unattended, and keep them away from flammable materials. Use candle holders
